At Saint Gobain Glass we are looking for a Technical Specifications Manager to provide Technical Specification support on the SGGUK product range to all stakeholders within the glass and architectural market. This role will be covering the South, including South West counties and South West London and would give the opportunity to have a genuine impact on both the customer experience and the business.

This is a fantastic time to join the business as Saint Gobain are investing massively in Glass and as a result are in the process of producing new products. This is a key role in which you will work closely with the commercial sales team as well as building strong relationships with key influencers and stakeholders within the market to maximise market presence and drive revenue.

Glass UK is one of 30 Saint-Gobain brands in the UK. The Glass UK site in Eggborough is part of a business with a 350 year heritage in flat glass manufacturing and are Europe's leading manufacturer of flat glass for the UK market.

What we're looking for:

  • A strong understanding and awareness of specification sales combined with strong business acumen - ideally from the glass industry but other backgrounds will be considered
  • Specification Professional - technical sales / engineering background
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple simultaneous priorities
  • Experience of current building regulations
  • Excellent communication and the ability to influence and manage across a matrix organisation.
  • Experience managing projects
  • Experience using calculation tools for specifications such as Mepla

What you will be doing:

  • Provide technical support to customer base on the full product range ensuring products are correctly specified to current national regulations.
  • Utilise recognised calculation methods to ensure correct and up to date data on the product range is distributed to both direct and indirect customers.
  • Build strong relationships with influencers in the wider architectural market to proactively identify and secure upcoming project opportunities across all sectors
  • Work closely with the commercial sales team to ensure that project pipeline is comprehensively tracked and converted into sales
  • Provide technical glass specification services to maximise opportunities and generate sales leads for the commercial sales team and our external customers.
  • Preparation and delivery of project meetings with key accounts to support this lead generation.
  • Provide technical assistance to the sales and marketing team to respond to customer enquiries and develop supporting documentation.
  • Provide reports on time in full as required pertinent to specification sales activity.
