Your new role
We are currently recruiting Technical Support Analysts for a shift based rolling 6 month on-site contract based in Kenilworth (12-hour shifts, 06.30 - 18.30 dayshift and 18.30 - 06.30 rotation of 4 days on, 4 off). The initial 2 weeks will be 9 - 5 on-site for training purposes. (some remote flexibility offered)
As part of a newly formed EU monitoring team, the Technical Analyst will be required to provide L1 & L2 support. You will have an IT infrastructure and operations background and experience monitoring critical IT systems and environments to ensure their availability. You will be monitoring global infrastructure (Servers, DC's, LAN/WAN) to detect issues and ensure a timely resolution.
This position is responsible for working with IT Operators and the IT Operations Lead to support a portfolio of IT Operation related tasks such as: Daily, Weekly and Monthly computer schedules, Systems and Infrastructure monitoring, Data backups, Out of working hours IT Service Desk support and Back Office tasks. You will be responsible for ensuring that the global IT infrastructure, systems and applications are operational and a smooth handover is made between the shifts and for the coordination of the daily tasks and activities of IT Operators on shift.
What you will be doing
Monitor critical IT systems and environments ensuring their availability (with relevant escalations as necessary)
Monitor global infrastructure (Servers, DC's, LAN/WAN) to detect any issues and ensure timely resolution
Monitor and react to SAP redwood job and schedule failures
Provide problem resolution/escalation for all issues impacting the batch schedule
Provide IT Service Desk support: Back Office tasks and out of hours calls and tickets
Tape rotation handling and coordination
What you/'ll need to succeed
General IT knowledge
Fluent in English (written and spoken)
Time served experience as an IT Operator
Complex knowledge of the schedules and scheduling systems across many systems and platforms
Deep knowledge of the IT Service Desk systems and procedures
A working knowledge of Windows Systems and LAN/WAN Infrastructure
A good knowledge of the helpdesk system and procedures
A good knowledge of the problem management procedures
ITIL knowledge
AS400 experience advantageous
