Technical Support Officer

About the role
We are currently looking for a Technical Support Officer to support our Highways Asset Incident Manager. You work closely with the Highways Asset Incident Manager, providing key administrative support to the Council's response to dangerous structures abutting the highway, other significant incidents such as geotechnical. The postholder will provide support in managing and maintaining technical records, scheme documentation, electronic filing systems and communications with the various associated teams - this will include Local Authority Building Control, Cornwall Council Client Officers, and a variety of Cormac employees amongst other stakeholders. The role will be a key link in ensuring relevant processes are followed and that the Highways Asset Incident Manager is suitably supported.
Duties for this position include:
Provide prompt, proactive administration support.
Monitor, review and improve processes and systems.
Maintain and manage electronic records.
Assist the preparation of technical documents and legal notices.
Maintain confidentiality of information acquired.
About you
We are looking for you to bring:
Good standard of education with a minimum of 5 GCSE's including Maths and English (grade C / 4)
Previous experience of working in a business management/financial office environment.
Demonstrates sufficient analytical and interpretive skills to deal with complaints, financial information, keep accurate detailed records, maintain and follow set processes/procedures, and maintain detailed spreadsheets, draft letters/notices/standard communications'.
Competent in the use of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.
Competent at maintaining security and confidentiality and can demonstrate a good understanding of the principles and practice of data protection.
