Technician


About the role

As one of our highly motivated Technicians, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring students and staff have access to excellent equipment and resources. From maintaining our modern music and media production tools to providing exceptional technical support, you'll play a critical role in creating an outstanding student experience.


With an eye for detail, you will be responsible for managing our equipment and room reservation systems, making sure everyone has access to the equipment that they need. Confident in your technical ability, you will assist the Senior Facilities technician in maintaining our specialist recording, live events, media and eSport facilities with preventive maintenance, whilst looking after our wide range of technical equipment by reporting and resolving problems as they arise.


Alongside your technical duties, you'll be the face of Access Creative College at open days and external events, fostering a welcoming atmosphere and representing our mission and values with pride. You will work with the Director of Campus and Resources Manager to ensure the student and staff’s needs are met, and our facilities are always safe and presentable.


This is a 6 month (min) fixed term contract (contract may be extended after this time).


Some evening & weekend work will be required to support events and open days.


About you


With a desire to learn, you will be motivated by resolving issues and improving your technical skills. You will be knowledgeable and approachable and keen to gain a strong working knowledge of all of our systems and specialist studio environments,


If you have operational expertise in AV, media and audio production equipment and software, including DAWs such as Logic Pro, along with an understanding of H&S issues and first aid, then you could be the perfect fit for this role. Additionally, knowledge of managing networked computers, game design and 3D modelling software, such as Maya, Unity, Unreal Engine and Adobe Suite would be a plus.


Having a good understanding of Further Education systems and processes would also be of benefit.
