12 Month Fixed Term Contract
The NSG Group is one of the World's largest manufacturers of glass and glazing products for Architectural, Automotive and Technical Glass sectors.
With around 28,000 permanent employees, the Group has principal manufacturing operations in 30 countries and sales in over 130. With just over a third of our sales in Europe, around a third are in Japan and the rest primarily in North and South America, South East Asia and China.
Our Chemical Analysis and Spectroscopy team provides key inorganic support in the analysis of glasses, glass-making raw materials and associated products to NSG manufacturing operations and licensees on a global basis. In addition, support is also provided to the Group's R&D project portfolio in the development of new products and processes.
Joining us as a Technologist, you'll operate complex analytical equipment to aid the analysis and quality control of glasses and related materials. You'll also be responsible for sample preparation techniques, data processing and reporting, some basic equipment maintenance activities and full compliance with all relevant health, safety, environment, and quality procedures.
As a Technologist, we'd like you to be a graduate of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) and have a genuine interest in quality control. You'll be innovative, self-motivated, and able to work as part of a team and have good analytical skills as well as a keen attention to detail. Experience of Excel would stand you in good stead, as would some experience of sample preparation techniques.
Experience of optical measurements, operation of complex analytical instrumentation within quality control laboratory and sample preparation is desirable, as full training can be provided.
