ITF ROLE OVERVIEW
JOB TITLE: Technology Analyst
DEPARTMENT: Integrity & Legal – Science & Technical
REPORTING TO: Research & Insights Manager
LOCATION: Roehampton, South-West London (role may involve international
travel)
We work to a hybrid model requiring a mandatory minimum of 3 days working in the office
based in Roehampton, London and as part of this, Mondays and Tuesdays are ‘anchor days’
where all staff are obliged to work from the office.
Due to the timing of our projects, for this role we can only consider candidates who, on

International Tennis Federation (ITF) is the world governing body of tennis. Founded in 1913, its
purpose is to ensure the long-term growth and sustainability of the sport, delivering tennis for
future generations in association with its 213 member nations. The ITF oversees the rules and
regulations that govern international and national competition.
The ITF is responsible for the worldwide development of tennis through its highly regarded
Development Programme, its Science and Technical department which monitors equipment and
technology, and its Officiating department which oversees the education and advancement of
officials. The ITF is the owner of the two largest annual international team competitions in tennis,
Davis Cup and Billie Jean King Cup (BJKC) by Gainbridge and manages the Olympic and Paralympic
Tennis Events on behalf of the IOC and IPC. The ITF organises over 1,500 weeks of men’s, women’s
and junior tournaments on the ITF World Tennis Tour, ITF Beach Tennis Tour, UNIQLO Wheelchair
Tennis Tour and the ITF Masters Circuit. The ITF upholds the highest standards of integrity and is
a partner in the International Tennis Integrity Agency.
Overview of Department:
As the governing body of tennis, the ITF is responsible for protecting the integrity of the game.
This includes governance, legal, and science and technical responsibilities. The Integrity & Legal
department includes the Science & Technical department, which operates research and testing
programmes based in its world-leading tennis-specific laboratory in London.
The Role:
We are looking for a proactive and dedicated individual to facilitate the growth of technology in
tennis, specifically by supporting the expansion of electronic line calling (ELC) and player analysis
technology (PAT) certification programmes across all levels of competitive tennis. The role will be
based at the ITF office and laboratory facilities in Roehampton, but will require regular travel, as
systems are typically installed and tested at tennis venues. For more information on the type of

Responsibilities:
- Test ELC and PAT products for certification and ongoing monitoring of performance.
- Create technical reports for ELC and PAT products following testing.
- Evaluate and co-develop technology for use in ITF competitions.
- Maintain the ITF’s ball/player tracking database and develop data standards to improve
- Conduct tennis equipment testing, including ball approval and court pace testing.
- Assist with test equipment calibration, maintenance and logistics
Required competencies:
- Completed a Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics degree or equivalent.
- Knowledge of ball/surface impact and aerodynamic principles.
- Knowledge of tennis rules and regulations.
Personal qualities:
- Act with integrity, diplomacy, and be discreet with sensitive information.
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Capable of working in a small team or independently and use own initiative.
- Able to regularly travel outside of the UK for testing.
Desirables:
- Two years’ relevant experience or one year in addition to a post-graduate qualification.
- Knowledge of sports ball/player tracking systems and wearable technology.
- Experience of coding for image processing, data analysis and visualisation (e.g. Python, R,
- Experience working with Standard Operating Procedures.
