Technology Procurement Manager - Leading Global Satellite Telecommunications Business

Utilising satellite technology to protect and connect communities is this leading global telecommunications company's mission. Through 20+ years of developing their ka-band throughput, and over $1.2b invested they now offer unparalleled high-resolution frequencies through their band satellites to aid defence, and economic growth in more than 100 countries in EMEA.
Following a prolonged period of growth and increased market share, they now seek ambitious and driven procurement professionals to join their award-winning team to spearhead the transformation of their procurement function towards efficiency and sustainability. You will occupy a NEW (not previously existing) position within a relatively green supply chain management function and be responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement process to meet and grow customer demand. To achieve this, you will:
- Initiative effective category and strategic sourcing strategies to maximize margins and defend the company's market leading status. This will be across satellite hub platforms/terminals, ground earth stations, networking, ICT, software and cloud deployments, system integrators and outsourcing.
- Optimise third party spend and supplier performance, challenging the existing SRM.
- Utilize your market knowledge of suppliers, trends, and technology to make informed supplier decisions.
- Protect the company's supply continuity through implementing innovative risk management strategies.
- Lead the charge in transforming the supply chain to achieve environmental sustainability.
This is a Technology Procurement Manager position, so you must have at least 6 years' experience in strategic sourcing and procurement within a technology led industry. Through this experience you will have developed and extensive knowledge of ICT goods and services and have a proven history of implementing strategic sourcing and category strategies throughout the SRM process.
This company is a household name in the satellite telecommunications market. As such, knowledge and experience in the satellite industry and in software implementation is desirable but not essential. CIPS or an equivalent qualification will also be advantageous as well as an established telecommunications/ICT network.
