JOB PURPOSE
To assist internal/external customers and dealers in all aspects of the commissioning process of onboard and offboard products within the CI Cat Command Product Suite. This includes onboard machine control architecture, offboard control via console or station, and wired/wireless network solutions that support the command application.
JOB DUTIES
· Work primarily together with our dealers, customers, with integration, installation, and configuration of our
remote-control solution CAT Command.
· On-site responsibility for installing, commissioning the Command system as well as securing agreed system
performance.
· Work with remote control machines, communication-, site management- and other supporting systems.
· Contribute to development- and operations activities as well as dealer technical development.
· Consult potential customers with network designs tailored to their specific site that meet the Command
application requirements.
· Provide technical support for wired/wireless networks for the Cat Dealers in Europe.
· Assist with job studies utilizing Command for Customer/Dealer
· Assist GCI Team with technical pre-sales consultations
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
· A engineering degree with sufficient years of technology industry experience or equivalent is required.
· Ability to travel (up to 50%) frequently to customer and dealer locations
· Experience in the wireless communications field
PREFERRED SKILLS
· Attention to detail
· Excellent written and verbal communication
· Proficiency in English language
· Understanding/hands on experience of construction machine industry
· Experience with M2M and M2X communication methods (Wi-Fi, Radio, 3G/4G/5G, etc.)
· Proficiency with CLI
· Proficiency with Linux
· CCNA
· Proficiency with network troubleshooting equipment
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS
· Hands-on experience with remote control, automation and construction machines
· Experience with construction or mine site network evaluations
· Proficiency in French language
· Proficiency in German language
