Temporary Accommodation Officer

Good Afternoon,

I am currently representing Slough Council, who are offering an initial temporary contract for a period of 3-6 months with a view to be extended or offered a permanent position for the right candidate at a rate of 20.09 which is negotiable dependent upon experience

We are looking for a Temporary Accommodation Officer this role will be: SL1 2EJ (Hybrid)

The right candidate will:

• To directly manage properties acquired for Temporary Accommodation for homeless households. Tasks include TA void management, lettings, tenancy management, rent arrears, repairs, landlord liaison, evictions, and related areas.
• To monitor and visit Temporary Accommodation tenants and ensure authorised occupation, vacation, and repossession on proper discharge of the Council's duties under homelessness legislation and to ensure that all properties are fully compliant with Health and Safety standards, including Health and Housing Safety Rating System and Housing Acts 1985, 2004
• To provide support and advice to all Temporary Accommodation tenants including advice on employment and training and to make referrals to external agencies as appropriate.
• To undertake project work, including detailed research and negotiation, and lead as required on other projects as appropriate.
• To maximise rental and fee income from all forms of Temporary Accommodation and to work with Senior colleagues in procuring value for money TA outside the Slough area in conjunction with the Out of Borough Placement Policy.

We require the following:

• Extensive experience of managing a portfolio of Temporary Accommodation with experience of suitability issues and income collection
• Experience of working in a high profile front line housing needs service dealing with complex needs with a commitment to equalities and working in a diverse environment
• Experience of working in a multi cultural community and within an urban environment
