Job description

Our client is a 'good' primary school based near Ealing Common Station, they have a strong pupil focus, celebrated in their recent Ofsted Report, an ideal working environment for someone looking for a place to feel part of the bigger picture.

To be successful in your application, you must be committed to the summer schedule of the client, have good working knowledge of SIMS and worked in an education setting

You will play a core part in the running of this successful school, so will be confident in your abilities, have initiative and be proactive!

Role: Temporary Administration - DBS

HOURS: 8am - 4pm

SALARY: £13.15 per hour

LOCATION: Ealing

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Ensure the following are opened (Outlook, SIMS, Calendar, Cover, RBS, COPIA/Community Bulletin & Forms, the school website, Teams)
  • Review the COPIA Calendar up to two weeks ahead; know which week you're in (Week 1 or Week 2)
  • If you have a radio, turn it on to an audible volume on the SLT channel and ensure that the battery is fully charged; although the Front Desk holds the main responsibility of SIMS/Office alerts, please help your team out in responding to any call-outs
  • Sign in the third computer & turn on the CCTV cameras to views of each entrance onto school site
  • Unlock the epi-pen cupboards & ensure that the defibrillator is securely stored on the wall
  • Unlock the front door & the Parlour (also ensure that the Parlour is in meeting condition - no clutter and the setup is appropriate)
  • Ensure that you have your 'blue book' to hand with all of the helpful resources; a short list of early & school closures, timings of the school day (including the shortened day on Fridays), AM assemblies & P5 singing schedule (see COPIA daily in the AM for any assembly changes), tutor group lists, a paper copy of Trust phone extensions, lists of duties and where to expect SLT, having the Wider Learning schedule, Study Club schedule, booster lessons, an oversight of the Y8 Reception Helpers schedule (which can be found in the Office inbox under Information), Printing Fire Registers guide, emergency procedures (including bomb threats)
  • Emails should be checked at every possible opportunity throughout the day (Office & Reception inboxes) missing students, anything regarding Safeguarding/Child Protection, SIMS alert emails and Attendance emails should take priority; emails should not be sitting uncategorised in the top of the inbox for hours - if you don't know how to sort it, or why things are flagged, please ask a manager
  • Regularly check community bulletins to see what announcements are being made around the school for awareness
  • Please remember to use your personalised signature at the bottom of each email
  • Exec Meetings are on Monday and now rotate between the Trust schools at 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM (All Headteachers)
  • SLT Meetings are on Monday in the Conference Room at 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM
  • AttendStaff Briefing every Friday in the PC every Friday morning at 8:20 AM - 8:30 AM (unless there is a Friday closure, when it will be on Thursdays)
  • Governors', Pastoral and Curriculum Panel meetings happen throughout the school year and are in the School Calendar; please take note when these are coming up for printing purposes
  • Any Ealing Grid for Learning: Gatekeeping Newsletter, LDBS and DfE emails should be forwarded to 'SLT Wider - TWY' and 'Administration - TWY'
  • Please ensure you are familiar with the Visitors' Guide to ensure the safety of the school community (please see the details at the end of this table)
  • Focus Room work must be collected the day before the Focus Room begins - a second Y8 Helper can be arranged to speed up the collection of work if there are a high number of students in the Focus Room
  • Any actions normally carried out by the Year 8 Helper may (depending upon how critical they are) be carried out by the Duty Teacher instead
  • Admin Team Meetings are at 10:30am on Tuesdays (following the review of SLT minutes) and Pastoral Team Support meetings are immediately afterwards at 10:45am
