We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, resilient and diligent administrator to join our Exams Integrity team as a Temporary Safeguarding Administrator.

This is an excellent opportunity to hone your skills in professional curiosity, vigilance and integrity, and gain the experience of collaborating with trained safeguarding professionals in an energetic safeguarding environment.

Location: Manchester (our newly-refurbished office is on the Manchester University campus)

Contract dates: 7 May - August approx.

Rate of pay: 13.00 per hour

Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week (Mon-Fri)

Our safeguarding team work across the organisation, providing support, training and advice on safeguarding issues and receive referrals where there is a concern about a candidate. This is usually through written content in an exam script but also can be through social media, our customer services team or our colleagues who visit centres.

Working in Safeguarding within our Exams Integrity team, you'll provide a high level of administrative support processing safeguarding referrals during our busiest period of the academic year. There may also be the opportunity to support in other areas including candidate malpractice, estimations, social media monitoring, very late arrivals and workforce planning.

We're looking for people with:

• Solid administrative experience, with high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Experience working in a safeguarding setting - educational, health care or as part of a social work degree.
• Resilience to process sometimes distressing information
• Vigilance and the ability to employ professional curiosity when investigating and identifying risk
• Experience of note taking and recording safeguarding issues clearly and concisely
• Ability to perform evidence based defensible decision making
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a confident telephone manner
• Great organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise conflicting workloads and meet deadlines

Successful candidates will be invited to an Assessment session at our offices ahead of appointment.

The role is primarily based in our newly refurbished offices, but you will work a combination of days in the office and at home. You may be expected to work a higher proportion of days in the office initially for your training and probation so that you have the opportunity to get up to speed and to get to know everyone else in your team. Once probation is passed, you will have greater confidence in the work you are doing and the support network around you, and there may be the opportunity to work further days from home depending on business need.
