SalaryWe require a team of people to help assist our team of TENT ERECTORS in pitching/striking of a large tented village for the Open Golf in Troon Scotland. The village is based at Marr Rugby Club Troon & Troon Links Golf course.
You will need to find your own way there and back. Troon train station is 1 mile away from the tented village. Local buses are close by. Free parking will be available on site.

Job Description:
You will be part of a large team who will be assisting our team of staff in pitching / striking a large number of tents mainly 2 & 4 man tents for the Open Golf Tented village. You will also be expected to insert camp beds/mattresses into the tents.
Days required to work:
We require assistance on the following days, at the following times each shift will last for 10 hours and has a one hour unpaid lunch.

Monday 8th July 0800-1800
Tuesday 9th July 0800-1800
Wednesday 10th July 0800-1800
Thursday 11th July 0800-1800
Monday 22nd July 1000-1900 ( Camp site open to the public till 10am)
Tuesday 23rd July 0800-1800
Wednesday 24th July 0800-1800
Thursday 25th July 0800-1800 (subject to change)

You do not have to be available for every day. Likewise, if you cannot do one of the other days this is not a problem and will not prevent us from employing you.
Other
- Onsite along with some online training will be given on how to pitch the tents.
- Free Car parking is available on site. It is your responsibility to get to the site each day on time.
- Please wear suitable clothing including footwear as we still work if it is raining. Therefore waterproof jacket, trousers and proper footwear.
- Likewise, if it is hot and sunny please wear / bring sun cream.
- Please bring your own food and drinks as there is nothing on site and with one hour for lunch, there is not enough time to leave the site to get lunch.
- There will be daily targets of the number of tents we expect to be pitched / taken down by the team of erectors. If we manage to beat these targets we may finish early and you will still get paid for the whole day.
- If the weather is really bad and likely to continue for the whole day you could be sent home early and you will be paid on a pro rata basis.
- If it is really bad weather (heavy rain) we may have to postpone work and therefore your hours may be extended so the work can be completed on time.
Pay Scale
£105 per day for over 21+ years old for 9 hour day. If you work all pitch and strike days as required by the company then a £10 per day bonus is added to your salary.
£80 per day for 18-20 Years old for 9 hour day. If you work all pitch and strike days as required by the company then a £8 per day bonus is added to your salary.
If you are between 16-17 years old you may be considered but at a rate of £55 per day for 8 hour day. If you work all pitch and strike days as required by the company then a £5 per day bonus is added to your salary.
You will be paid on completion of the work on Friday 2nd August 2024 direct into your bank account.
You must have a right to work in the United Kingdom and your wage is subject to HMRC Taxes and NI if thresholds are met.

Who are Tent 2 Hire?
We are a family company which started in 2011 and is based in West Sussex. We create tented villages for between 10-2500 people all around the country and even abroad throughout the summer.
We have now been creating the tented villages at the Open Golf Championship since 2016.
Other past Villages include the Tough Mudder, Olympics 2012, British Grand Prix, Isle of Man TT races.
