Test Hardware Engineer – Hybrid Working (Surrey) - £35,000-£45,000

A global household name within F1 and the automotive industry are looking for a strong Test Hardware Engineer to join their team based in Surrey. They are trying to pioneer a better future by uniquely applying data science, design, and engineering.

As a Test Hardware Engineer, you will work as part of a multi-functional team in delivering cutting-edge solutions to real-world problems. Within the team, you will be supporting and often leading activities across key themes in test governance which include test plans, defects, observations, test specifications, and test results.

You will become a key member to innovate by developing leading-edge products that span various market segments including automotive, motorsport, transportation, and human performance.

Responsibilities

- Contribute comprehensively to the team's endeavors, spanning from capturing test requirements to drafting test strategy specifications, designing and documenting test and measurement systems, integrating them with the product under evaluation, and analyzing test performance statistics.
- Create high-quality test projects adhering to motorsport and automotive industry standards for the products' lifecycle testing, ensuring compliance with relevant testing regulations and standards.
- Craft detailed test system design specifications that will serve as the blueprint for designing and commissioning the test system.
- Serve as an advocate for Design for Test (DfT), encompassing an understanding of all Design for Excellence (DfX) principles, to optimize product designs for various test activities, especially in the realm of manufacturing tests.
- Collaborate closely with systems engineers, product hardware specialists, and software engineers across the entire product development and production life cycles.

Qualifications

- Has prior experience in a similar role or industry.
- Possesses evident expertise in designing electronic hardware life-cycle tests.
- Demonstrates clear proficiency in designing measurement and instrumentation systems.
- Has a track record of successfully capturing requirements and drafting technical proposals to fulfill product specifications.
- Proficiency in developing boundary scan tests and understanding their Design for Testability (DfT) prerequisites.
- Competence in developing In-Circuit Test (ICT) procedures and comprehending their Design for Testability (DfT) prerequisites.
