We're on the lookout for a Test Operator to join our well-established client based in Abingdon with immediate starts.

About the role:

The Testing Group undertakes specialised performance testing of petroleum products using test rigs to support Infineum s Innovation, Development and Technical Service activities. The principle focus of the Test Operator role is to work within an established team of Operators to build and operate test machines, rate test parts and report test results according to standardized procedures.

A successful candidate is likely to have:

Strong commitment to HSSE and quality values.

Some lab-based experience, with a practical aptitude: ability to work skilfully and methodically according to technical standards and quality processes

Ability to drive work forward, multi-task and prioritise, to meet research targets and timelines.

The capability to accurately manage test results and technical information, and maintain comprehensive records

The details:

  • Proactive contribution to improving safety within Technology Services
  • The operation of a selection of glassware tests and precision mechanical testing machines and instruments, including the management of test queues and interacting with customers within the Technology community on priorities
  • Managing test results and co-ordinating the flow of technical information to internal customers
  • The provision of expert guidance to internal customers on the selection of test methods and advising on options to modify methods for special purposes
  • To diagnose operational problems with test equipment, implement remedial action and propose areas for procedural improvement

What will you gain from this role?

Experience of working within a rigorous Laboratory Quality Management System

Appreciation of Lubrication & Fuels Science, and methods employed to study behaviour and performance of additive chemistry

Working Hours:

Hours Monday to Friday working 37.5hrs per week
