Main Duties

We are Milena Kovanovic and Ros Millar, award winning jewellers and founders of The Ringsmiths jewellery making workshops. While running successful labels of our own for more than 10 years, in 2019 we joined forces to create The RingsmithsWorkshop Experiences. Our customers can get an insight into the life of a jeweller, whilst being guided through the process of making a beautiful piece of their own jewellery by our skilled team. We have two central London locations, our newest at Oxo Tower Wharf with our in-house workshop, class space and soon to be opened shop space.

We pride ourselves on the fantastic five star reviews we have received from our customers from day one. Our classes have been described as a mindful and relaxing experience where our customers can come and have a go at discovering their creativity. Their reward is a one of a kind piece of jewellery. As a small team of jewellers with wide ranging levels of experience we have a strong work ethic. We love what we do and we have fun whilst we do it. Our team all support each other regardless of their position and we strive to provide opportunities for our jewellers to express their own creativity in different ways. Following on the success of our sell out classes we are currently looking for someone to join our growing team of wonderful female jewellers.

About the Job:

At The Ringsmiths we run a variety of jewellery making Workshop Experiences as well as selling our At Home Kits and Ready to Wear collections. Due to phenomenal popularity of our classes, we are in need of a skilled and experienced jeweller who will work on the bench with production jobs but mainly assist/teach in classes with a possibility to progressing to a full time workshop and Experience Assistant.

Full training will be provided.

The role is varied and hands on. It will involve helping with all aspects of jewellery production, teaching and sales. Our ideal candidate is someone who is dynamic, has a passion for jewellery, is confident and wants to further their career alongside our fast growing company. The right candidate will have attention to detail and show initiative in all tasks, whilst being able to prioritise and complete jobs in a reasonable timeframe.

Someone who can work closely with others in a small team, is energetic, flexible, and has a can-do attitude. In particular the skills we require include:

  • Soldering
  • Cleaning castings
  • Different wax carving techniques
  • Sizing and resizing rings
  • Repairing jewellery
  • Ability and confidence to present different jewellery making techniques

The day to day running of the space will include:

  • Maintaining a tidy workshop space
  • Setting up, the class space in preparation for workshops
  • Take responsibility for visual presentation and cleanliness of the class and store space
  • Assisting teachers in workshops
  • Being on hand to assist customers picking up orders
  • Managing, packing and dispatching kit orders
  • Communicating regularly with relevant team members and updating customers
  • Building excellent working relations with the team, and with relevant external suppliers
  • Visiting external suppliers

Minimum 39.5 hours a week – This role is offered as full time and includes weekends. The post is available immediately, any successful applicant will be required to work a paid trial period.

Skills and Experience Required

• Jewellery qualification essential

• Ideally industry experience at the bench

• Ability to follow instructions and finish work to a high standard

• Must be organised, efficient and able to work to deadlines

• Outgoing and friendly personality, confident in liaising with suppliers and students attending workshops.

• Attention to detail & a common sense attitude
