The Royal Gazette Ltd is looking to fill the position of Sports Sub-Editor.
The successful applicant will have a minimum of ten years’ experience as a journalist, with at least three of those years in a copy-editing role.
The position has been updated to include the prospect of working remotely.
As Sports Sub-Editor you will support the Sports Editor to administer, plan and produce various publications, as well as supervise staff.
The successful person will possess the ability to:
➢ Shift gears seamlessly between breaking news and the news diary
➢ Create and co-ordinate content for all media channels, including but not limited to print, web and social media
➢ Edit copy and lay out pages
➢ Exercise good judgment over the use and relevance of overseas news
➢ Produce the Sport Scoreboard page in conjunction with and in the absence of the Sports Editor
➢ Work unsocial hours, including weekends and public holidays
➢ Show proficiency in an array of publishing tools, significantly InDesign
