You would support the Claims department to ensure strategies and processes continue to evolve as well as act as a technical referral point for claims handlers and support the development of the Claims Team by being an effective coach and role model.

Responsibilities:
- Support development and delivery of the Claims strategy and Vision
- Control resource within the team to ensure work is handled quickly, efficiently and effectively.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the team, continually reviewing data, identifying trends and anticipating behaviour.
- Undertake regular quality audits and provide feedback to grow the technical capability of the team. Identify and support training needs.
- Handle complaints in line with FSA and company requirements and guidelines. Participate in root cause analysis and implement solutions to improve customer experience.
- Monitor, manage and develop direct reports via quality audits, 121 meetings, Personal development plan and other company policies and guidelines.
- Support the claims function in meeting customers’ needs and delivering continuous service improvements.
- Approve claims payments within authority levels, ensuring that the payment request is correct, accurate and correctly documented on the claim file.
- Review and develop operational processes to ensure continuous improvement.
- Ensure adequate processes in place to minimise risk.
Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a senior claim’s role
- Experience of managing and developing team performance in a service centre environment
- Strong knowledge of motor claims
- Experience of formulating and delivering claims processes
- Experience of working with suppliers, ensuring SLA’s are delivered
- Sound understanding of FSC regulatory regime, FOS ethos and TCF initiatives
- Knowledge of project planning, co-ordination and execution of multiple projects simultaneously
- Demonstrable leadership skills
- High level of verbal and numerical skills, analytical , objective and able to solve problems
- Experience of formulating and delivering resource and work plans
- Professional insurance, risk management, management or legal qualification
