Do you need flexibility in the days you work? Our bank roles (sometimes referred to as “relief roles” in other companies) mean that you will be able to choose from available shifts and have the benefits of a consistent workplace combined with opportunity to build positive relationships with the individuals we support. However, you aren’t guaranteed shifts every week as hours are worked as and when required.
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and committed Bank Catering Assistant to maintain high standards throughout Baird Lodge, whilst adhering to Health and Safety Guidelines. In addition to this, you’ll also assist with meal preparation and help serve meals. Our in-houseTaste restaurantis open to customers seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and snacks, as well as offering a meal delivery service.
Located less than a mile from the charming and historic city of Ely, Baird Lodge provides apartments and communal facilities for people over 55 or with long-term care needs.

The role of Bank Catering Assistant will include:
- Helping to prepare meals and drinks, following food hygiene standards
- Working with customers, families, advocates, and staff to ensure a high standard of services
- Undertaking general duties as assigned, such as maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen, communal areas
- Identifying and reporting potential faults and hazards on site, to maintain a safe environment
- Maintaining stock levels, restocking as required and ensuring equipment is used in line with guidance notes
Skills and experiences:
- Some experience of working in a catering environment
- NVQ2 in Hospitality & Catering, or willing to work towards is desirable
- Good interpersonal and customer service skills
- A general understanding of health and safety in the work place
