Deputy Local Service Manager

The Maples, Barnstaple

£26,608 - £28,008

37.5 hours per week

Do you want a role where no two days are the same and you will be making a real impact to the lives of our customers?

Can you work under pressure and manage challenging situations?

If this sounds like you then we may have your perfect opportunity!

We’re looking for a Deputy Local Service Manager to join our management team at The Maples. The Maples is located within walking distance of the town centre and two parks, Pilton Park, and Rotary Gardens in Barnstaple, with easy access to North Devons beautiful coastline.

Closely supporting the Local Service Manager, you will play a vital role in the delivery of a high-quality service that meets with all legislative and organisational requirements. The successful candidate will take a hands-on approach and would need to be compassionate and caring and be able to offer flexibility in their new role as the Deputy Local Service Manager to support the business needs and deliver a quality service to our customers.

This position will be based at The Maples but may include some travel to our Exeter service.

We value our team and encourage learning and progression through our comprehensive induction programme, as well as ongoing training to develop new and existing skills and encourage progression. We have our own Learning and Development Academy, who provide a wide range of training courses, open to all.

Sanctuary also offers a great employee rewards scheme, where you will be able to receive a variety of discounts from major retailers.

  • Ensuring effective care and support systems are in place and that we operate in a fully compliant way
  • Preparing, promoting, and coordinating care plans
  • Involvement with the budget process
  • Reporting statistical information
  • Working effectively with key stakeholders (such as the local councils) to develop the service and ensure that any changes required to the service reflect the need of the local population and commissioner needs
  • Occasional travel may be a requirement of the role; therefore, a full valid driving licence is essential

Skills and experiences:

  • Compassionate, caring, and hard working with a hands-on approach to care management
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • NVQ / QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care
  • Previous experience of managing staff
  • Proven track record of developing relationships with partner agencies and key stakeholders
