Electrician

Plymouth - covering Plymouth and Cornwall

£37,518 - £39,492 per year

40 hours per week – Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 16:30pm

We are looking for an Electrician to join our Response team, based in Plymouth, covering Plymouth & Cornwall. You will be responsible for carrying out electrical maintenance within residential properties and care homes completing electrical condition reports. Forming part of a team of repair operatives this role will be lone working with occasional team work as and when required, therefore using your own initiative is essential. A company van and tools will be provided for business use to enable you to provide a high-quality service to customers.  

The role of Electrician will include:

• Inspecting and testing of occupied properties and care homes ensuring safety and compliance
• Maintaining electrical installations in tenanted and void properties, ranging from light fitting to partial/full rewires
• Completing all paperwork and producing certification associated with works undertaken 
• Monitoring and maintaining good levels of van stock and ensuring tools and equipment are kept in a suitable condition
• Attending emergency, urgent and routine works on a rotational OOH Rota to attend emergencies outside normal working hours

Skills and experiences:

• To ensure full compliance with Building Safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to NVQ Level 3, 18th Edition - 2nd Amendment, BS5839-1, BS5839-6, currently undertaking the qualification or prepared to undertake this qualification with the support of Sanctuary Group.
• Working knowledge of the application of Health and Safety legislation
• Previous experience undertaking a similar role
• Ability to analyse and diagnose problems and implement effective solutions
• Good communication and interpersonal skills along with a customer focused approach
• This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
