Lettings Officer

 

Pilgrim House, Billericay

 

£28,867 - £30,387 per year

 

37.5 hours per week

 

We have an opportunity for 2 Lettings Officers to join our team, based in Billericay. As a Lettings Officer you will be responsible for providing an efficient and effective Lettings and Allocations service whilst also achieving key performance indicators. As part of the role, you will be working with several internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective management of all void properties to maximise occupancy levels and minimise re-let times, ensuing properties are allocated appropriately and quickly.

 

The ideal candidate will have experience of working with customers, have good IT skills, be willing to learn, have previous lettings/housing experience and be able to work to tight deadlines.

 

The role of Lettings Officer will include:

  • Deliver the lettings and allocations service in line with policy and procedure
  • Advertise and allocate properties using Choice Based Lettings Systems, Rightmove and other mediums
  • Managing, monitoring, and driving void KPI performance for vacant stock, re-let days and void loss
  • Accurate data recording and management in line with business requirements, processes and procedures
  • Risk management regarding safety of residents and staff ensuring correct verification for applicants
  • Develop relationships with internal stakeholders including Lettings Officers, housing officers, income team, property services and local authorities
  • Dealing with legal compliance and financial loss for extended void periods
  • Co-ordinate mutual exchanges to ensure they are carried out within the requirements of Sanctuary’s policies and procedures and liaising with other landlords and tenants as required

 

Skills and experiences:

  • Working to tight performance targets and deadlines
  • Ability to work as part of a team and also on your initiative
  • Excellent communication skills, allowing you to negotiate, present and build positive relationships
  • Strong IT and database skills e.g. Outlook and Microsoft Office packages
  • Ability to plan, organise and prioritise workload effectively
  • Excellent accuracy levels with high attention to detail
  • Experience in policy and business process compliance is desirable
  • Experience of using Housing Systems, SAP, Abritas or similar Choice Based Lettings system is desirable
  • Travel is a requirement of the role, therefore a full valid driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential
