Lift Support Engineer

 

Worcester

 

£40,895 – 43,047 per year plus Company Car

 

35 hours per week – Monday to Friday

 

We have an opportunity for a Lift Support Engineer to join our National Compliance team, based in the Midlands. The National Compliance Team is responsible for delivering a high quality compliance service to all the business areas within Sanctuary. It is responsible for keeping our customers safe by ensuring periodic inspections, maintenance and remedial works are carried out to our properties and assets to keep them compliant.

 

Thie role will involve reporting into the Lift Operations Manager working within the lift team made up of 2 co-ordinators and 7 administrators. The co-ordinators and administrators manage the Lift Servicing and LOLER inspection contractors and manage all the relevant documentation that is generated from these and manages the completion of required remedial works needed to the assets to maintain operational status and most importantly, to keep them safe for our customers to use.

 

The role of Lift Support Engineer will include:

  • Assist the Operations Manager in the development, implementation and monitoring of the National lifts installation and modernisation specifications, guidance and commissioning procedures
  • Provide guidance, advice and support to the Group on lifts installation, modernisation, servicing and maintenance matters to ensure statutory, regulatory and contractual compliance
  • Monitor and report on lifts servicing and maintenance activities throughout the Group
  • Support the Reinvestment Teams in the delivery of lifts installation and modernisation programmes
  • Develop and maintain sufficient knowledge of current and new lift standards and monitor developments in health and safety theory and good practice

 

Skills and experiences:

  • To ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to EAL / NVQ level 3 in Engineering Maintenance (Lift Servicing) or HNC in Lift Engineering (LOLER)or currently undertaking the qualification. If you have a lower level qualification along with practical experience and would be prepared to undertake this qualification with the support of Sanctuary Group, we would still welcome an application
  • Proven experience of undertaking a similar Lifts Engineer/Technician role, particularly a proven track record in fault-finding and trouble-shooting OG lifts (a range of different brands) on site
  • Detailed knowledge of the Lift Standards: EN81-20 and EN81-50 and CIBSE Guide D
  • Proven knowledge of Lifts regulations, legislation, current and good practice and related issues
  • Previous experience of working with engineers, technicians, or specifiers, commenting on building plans and approving design and specifications
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer care and Communication skills
  • Proficient user of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams
  • This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence

  • Role salary is £36,680 with an additional policy allowance of £4,214 per annum (rising to £38,611 with an additional policy allowance of £4,436 per annum after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)
