Mental Health Support Assistant

 

Gore Avenue, Salford

 

£10.97

 

37.5 hours available – To include days, nights and weekends on a rolling rota

We are seeking a friendly and positive Support Assistant to join our team. Set in the heart of Salford, Gore Avenue provides 24-hour support for 8 adults aged 18 and over, with a range of complex Mental Health needs.

Customers are supported to develop their skills and strengths, with the focus to moving on to independent accommodation after approximately six months.

 

You will use your excellent communication and support skills, working with colleagues and partner agencies to achieve the best outcome for our customers.

The role of Support Assistantwill include:

  • Supporting the Project Workers with key-working duties and file keeping
  • Providing a high quality, hands-on care, and support service
  • Building positive relationships with customers to identify their individual needs and help encourage independent living
  • Working with colleagues and partner agencies to achieve the best outcome for our customers
  • Maintaining a safe environment for customers, providing care and support in accordance with relevant regulations, procedures, and practices

 

Skills and experiences:

  • Experience of working in a similar, support related role is desirable
  • A caring, approachable nature and a confident ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Excellent communication skills to build positive relationships with customers
  • Ability to keep accurate records and clearly communicate relevant information to team members
  • NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care, or willing to work towards is desirable
