Our client is a leading company specializing in precision manufacturing using the latest technology. Committed to innovation and excellence, they strive to deliver superior products to our customers. They are currently seeking a skilled and experienced CNC Tool Room Engineer to join their team.
Job Summary:
As a CNC Tool Room Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and optimization of CNC machinery and tooling in our manufacturing facility. Working closely with production and engineering teams, you will ensure the efficient operation of our CNC equipment to meet production goals while maintaining high quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pre-configure tools ahead of daily production for all CNC machining centres, including 3-axis vertical and horizontal machines.
- Develop tooling sheets and relevant documentation for machine operators.
- Utilize the MRP system (Epicor) to generate pick lists, ensuring an adequate supply of miscellaneous items for upcoming workloads.
- Employ the 'Haimer' Power Clamp Setter for tool setting (Training provided).
- Perform daily calibration and setting using the 'Haimer' Pre-setter (Training provided).
- Conduct tool balancing as necessary using the 'Haimer' Balancing machine (Training provided).
- Maintain and replenish tooling stock levels as needed.
- Manage vending machine operations and restock inventory accordingly.
- Perform check-in and check-out procedures for gauges ahead of daily production.
- Monitor calibration schedules and renewal dates for all controlled equipment.
- Coordinate the organization and retrieval of jigs and fixtures in preparation for daily production.
- Oversee the jig and fixture store, including monitoring maintenance requirements.
- Conduct tool grinding for drills/cutters internally as needed or coordinate external re-grinding with suppliers.
- Collaborate with internal engineering buyers to source stock and suppliers.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a CNC Machinist or similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Apprenticeship (desirable)
- Proficiency in setting up, programming, and operating CNC milling machines.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Strong attention to detail and precision to produce high-quality components.
