AWE is currently recruiting for a Tooling Maintenance Precision Fitter to carry out a wide range of craft machining operations in the manufacture and development of production and trials components within the Production Function.
Location - Burghfield
Package - £27,420-£35,000 dependant on skills and experience

Job Purpose:
  • Carry out processing operations on all relevant products and support equipment within the required work areas
  • Carry out mechanical handling operations within the required work areas
  • Working in accordance with all relevant Security, Safety, Efficiency and Quality regulations
  • Working in accordance with the company Behaviours Framework

Key Accountabilities:
  • Ensure that all processing and handling operations are completed within programme restrictions and to approved operating procedures, safety cases and legislative requirements by adherence to the regulations laid down in Procedural Guides, Work Instructions, and Safe Systems of work relevant to the work area
  • Identify any areas of concern or serious shortcomings which affect operations to Line Manager
  • Comply with all safety, environmental, fire, quality, security standards, regulations and legislation by maintaining and promoting high personal standards and behaviours in environment, safety, health security and quality and be a great team player
  • Undertake the duties of any other craft operators, appropriate to the grade and training, as required / directed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform all processing and handling operations as necessary to meet outputs
  • Support processing activities which may include
  • Reading and controlling the process and ensuring no deviations from approved procedures
  • Undertaking the mechanical operations required to complete the process
  • Assisting with the supplying of spare parts as required
  • Be competent to use a range of equipment, hand tools and machinery
  • Perform crane / slinger duties
  • Carry out tooling modifications, when required in accordance with approved procedures
  • Perform Tooling Maintenance tasks as required in accordance with approved procedures
  • Attending all periodic mandatory and on-the-job training, as directed
  • Individuals may be expected to undertake tasks in support of other teams and undertake any other duties deemed to be within the job holder’s capability and grade

To be successful in this role you will have a recognised Craft Apprenticeship.
