Job Title: Tooling Solution Architect

GI Group are now seeking to appoint a Tooling Solution Architect to our public sector client based in Manchester. The Tooling Solution Consultant will proactively and holistically lead and support enterprise architecture activities that guide the development and management of the tools used within IT. They will help ensure incoming tooling technology is delivered effectively and look to the future for new innovations.
Main Duties of the Tooling Solution Architect:

  • Work with other enterprise architects (e.g. business, network, security architects, etc.) to analyse enterprise business context (business strategy and trends), as well as change requirements in other enterprise architecture viewpoints (such as business, information and solution) to derive the future-state technology architecture.
  • Lead development of architectures for tooling used within IT services and the wider, ensuring tools are utilised to their maximum potential and fit within the ecosystem
  • Within a business change programme, manage the programme's target design, policies and standards with respect to technology tooling. Works proactively to achieve stable, viable designs and ensure consistency of design across projects within the programme.
  • Defines high-level migration plans to address the gaps between the future and current state, typically in sync with the IT budgeting or other capital planning processes.
  • Plans and lead the identification and assessment of new and emerging technologies, products, services, methods and techniques and their evaluation in terms of potential impacts, threats and opportunities to the organisation.
  • Develops guidelines for monitoring emerging technologies and collaborates with internal and external parties to facilitate intelligence gathering.


Role Requirements:

  • Experience of design & implementation of IT tools and technologies.
  • Have experience with service now, Intune, JAMF and other key technologies.
  • Product exploration & evaluation.
  • Ability to lead both technical & non-technical meetings and discussions.
  • Be able to work with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Understanding of secure by design principles.
