Permanent Full Time (37.5 hours per week)

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Graduate Planner to join the team at our office, based at Tamworth, with the option of homeworking.

Joining our Strategic Land team, you will be responsible for identifying, securing, promoting and master planning strategic land for residential development to support growth in line with the business plan. This will include liaison with agents, local planning authorities, landowners, and consultants during the development process to ensure a satisfactory solution is progressed and delivered in conjunction with the Regions to ensure an efficient handover.

As a graduate within the team, experience will be provided in all aspects of strategic land acquisition, planning promotion, master planning, and development appraisals before specialising in either a land or planning role. In addition, participation in the Lovell Graduate Scheme will be available to develop managerial skills. The role will be supported to complete a professional qualification for the RTPI.

Starting in September 2024, you will be recruited as a Planning Graduate and will complete a structure induction to the business. Before focussing on your role, you will attend graduate programme days at our head office in Tamworth and around the wider business. During the two years of the programme, you will work mainly in strategic land learning the art and science of the business, but also spend placements in the broader business departments (construction, commercial, technical, sales and finance) to gain an insight into the wider business. You will also complete the Institute of Leadership and Management s Level 2 Award in Team Leading as an introduction to the world of management.

Candidates will have graduated in 2023, be graduating in 2024 or have a year or less experience post-graduation. In terms of qualification, Candidates will have completed an RTPI accredited degree and have achieved or expected to achieve at least a 2.1 undergraduate degree or successfully or expected to pass a Masters related degree such as Regeneration Studies, Spatial Planning and Development, Transport Planning, and Sustainability Planning and the Environment.

Successful candidates will have achieved high academic standards as well as being able to demonstrate a passion and commitment for a career in the built environment with a focus on planning policy and promotion of sites through a local plan. We will be looking for evidence of leadership skills, ability to work in a team, and a commitment to excellence.
