The purpose of a Trade Counter Salesperson is to provide exceptional customer service and generate sales by assisting customers in person at the Trade Counter. They serve as the main point of contact for customers who visit the company's physical location to make purchases or inquire about products. The primary goal of a Trade Counter Salesperson is to ensure customer satisfaction, build strong relationships, and drive revenue for the business.
The working hours are Monday - Friday 8am-5pm + a minimum of 2 Saturdays a month 8am-12pm.
Principal Accountabilities
· Greet and assist customers in a professional and friendly manner at the Trade Counter.
· Provide product information, technical specifications, and guidance to customers, helping them make informed purchasing decisions.
· Handle incoming customer inquiries through various channels (mostly in-person but sometimes this may be required by phone, email or on our websites chat feature) and address their needs promptly and effectively.
· Process sales orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring correct pricing, quantities, and delivery details.
· Upsell and cross-sell relevant products to maximize sales opportunities.
· Maintain a well-organized and visually appealing Trade Counter, ensuring products are neatly displayed and easily accessible.
· Liaise with the warehouse to ensure you have the relevant stock items for the displays/ shop stock.
· Collaborate with the warehouse team to ensure smooth order fulfilment and timely delivery to customers.
· Handle customer complaints or concerns with professionalism and empathy, seeking appropriate resolutions.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, fostering long-term loyalty and repeat business.
· Stay up to date with industry trends, product knowledge, and competitor offerings.
· Collaborate with the sales team to identify potential leads and provide feedback on customer preferences and market demands.
Other Duties
· Aiding other teams if short staffed when required e.g. logistics team or customer service team.
· Aid with stock takes.
· Cover Trade Counter colleagues’ Saturday shift when they are on holiday.
