Job description

We are currently looking for a Trading Standards Enforcement Officer to join the Trading Standards team of a south Wales local authority.

The role involves responding to and investigating instances of breaches of a wide variety of Trading Standards legislation. This includes but is not restricted to food standards, product safety and fair trading, via intervention, business advice and sampling as required by the needs of the service. An enforcement background and food standards qualification as per the Food Law Code of Practice (Wales) is essential.

The post holder will be required to visit retail, industrial and similar premises within the Neath Port Talbot area. The ability to speak Welsh is not required.

The Trading Standards service operates a "hybrid working policy". Officers are not restricted to core times, working from or physically having to report to the office. The role will include some unsocial working hours. If you think that you have the necessary experience and qualifications for this role, we would love to hear from you.
