Trailer Technician

Red Sky are currently recruiting for a Trailer Technician at Gatwick to undertake repairs and maintenance of baggage trailers to the required standard.
Whats on offer?
Shifts: Monday – Friday 0700-1530
Pay: £25,000 - £27,000pa DOE with a £80/month attendance bonus.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Repair trailers and dollies as requested by the Workshop Supervisor
• Carry out inspections, airside and in the workshop and advise all defects to the Workshop Supervisor before commencing with any repairs or booking out any parts.
• Collect equipment for workshop servicing and repair.
• Job card/inspection sheet must be completed correctly to current point of repair and handed to the Workshop Supervisor at the end of each day’s shift.  All non-productive time is also to be added to the correct job card for authorisation by the Workshop Supervisor 
• Update the Workshop Supervisor of any further work or parts required immediately.
• Report any defective items immediately to the Workshop Supervisor and red tag.

Health and Safety Requirements:

• To act responsibly and to do everything possible to prevent injury to themselves and other  persons
• Observe all rules and appropriate operating procedures/instructions regarding safety at all times
• Correctly use safety equipment, protective devices and PPE (if applicable)
• Inform their immediate Supervisor of all accidents, dangerous occurrences, near miss events, damage or potentially dangerous situations, whether persons are injured or not
• Cooperate in the investigation of any accident or incident
• Report any unsafe or defective plant, tools, equipment, PPE, practices, methods or other hazards
• Participate in improving health and safety in the Company by making suggestions in these matters to the Operation Manager, Workshop Supervisor or Safety Representative

Knowledge and Skills:

• Welding and Fabrication
• Analytical and numerate with good communication skills
• Customer oriented/service delivery focussed
• General knowledge of health and safety regulations

Qualifications:

• Welding (desirable)
• Forklift (desirable)
