The role
As a Trainee Communications Engineer you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will be undergoing and completing training requirements to gain the relevant knowledge and skills to become a Communications Engineer. You will work with the engineering team, carrying out preventative and corrective maintenance on Transmitters, Receivers, and other associated equipment.
Day to day, you'll complete a training programme and assessments as set out in a training syllabus and demonstrate a good technical understanding of equipment to gain the BTEC Qualification, as well as:
- Understanding the need to work safely and become familiar with Babcock safety Instructions.
- Be proactive in the Safety & Health of self and others who may be affected by work activities.
- Become competent with operational and maintenance tasks on Transmitters, Receivers, and associated equipment.
- Observing safe working practices and local procedures as advised and instructed.
This role is full time and based onsite at the Falkland Islands.
Essential experience of the Trainee Communications Engineer:
- Good computer application skills.
- Be in possession of a full drivers' license.
- Some understanding of the Communications' Industry.
Qualifications for the Trainee Communications Engineer:
- GCSE Math, English & Science, Grade C or above.
The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
