About The Role
Are you looking to begin a career in Smart Meter Engineering? Here at Morrison Energy Services we have a fantastic opportunity for individuals of any background, who are looking to commence a new and exciting career in the Smart Metering Industry. Successful applicants will be welcomed onto a bespoke 21 week training programme to learn how to install smart/electric and gas meters, with no prior industry experience required. In addition, you will be provided with a mentor who will assist you in embedding your newfound learning and qualifications.
Once you are fully trained, you will join our Engineers in the field and will be primarily responsible for the safe installation, maintenance, and removal of Electric and Gas meters (SMETS2) in domestic properties, whilst also responding to any ongoing maintenance or emergency appointments. We strive to provide excellent customer service to our customers ensuring they are well informed on the benefits and safe usage of their new smart meter.
We will be running various assessment centres throughout the UK, to assess candidate suitability for the position and to provide further details on the day-to-day expectations of the role.
We will upskill you further by providing you with your Gas metering qualification, MET1. Whilst on the training programme (21 weeks) you will receive a competitive salary of £25,670 per annum, which will subsequently rise to £36,000 (£39,000 if you live in an area where London Weighting is applicable), when signed off from the training programme.

Once live in the field you will benefit from:
- £36k basic - realistic OTE £43K-46K
- £39,000 basic within London as weighting applied to salary.
- £1000 Safety Bonus per year

Skills and Qualifications
- Prior experience within a face-to-face customer service/customer focused role
- Basic knowledge of Health & Safety precautions in the workplace
- A current full UK driving license with no more than 6 penalty points.
- A positive, can do attitude.
- Great interpersonal skills that empowers customer relations as well as driving best practice and proactive change for the better.
- Team spirit to assist colleagues and promote the company brand.
- The ability to coach and develop others who are developing new skills and competencies.
