Trainee Hazardous Waste Chemist

We are currently recruiting for a Trainee Hazardous Chemist/Coordinator for our client in the Waste sector in Aberdeen. This is a great opportunity to secure a progressive position.

The main purpose of the role will be supervising the special waste facility, collections and deliveries

Main duties will include but not be limited to:-

Supervise incoming and outgoing special waste from transfer station ensuring all paperwork is correct and complete, and maintaining accurate logs and stock of material on site (Will require working with operations, incoming verifications to be completed correctly and will require auditing and inspections of waste where required)

Prepare and distribute interceptor sampling reports

Assist with loading and offloading of waste including use of forklift and manual assistance for any other lifting activities

Collect/prepare waste samples for third party analysis

Prepare hazardous paperwork & labels

Co-ordinate with transport operator on collection/delivery of Hazardous Waste

Off Site sampling/listing/segregating/ packaging and preparation of Hazardous Waste loads

Transit van collections of hazardous and non-Hazardous Waste

Skills/Experience:-

Aware of Company IMS Policy and Procedures (QHSE)

Competent with MS Office ie word and excel

Have a working knowledge of Waste Management Legislation (esp Special Waste Regs 1996)

Chemical Awareness Training

Minimum HNC Chemistry

Full Driving Licence (Essential)

Forklift Licence (preferred)

Normal working week will be 40 hours. Permanent position with training given.
