We are recruiting for a Trainee PDI (pre-delivery inspection) Engineer to further strengthen our workshop team and support our growing business. Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you’ll play a key role in preparing our plant equipment for hire and maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
Above all, you’ll have a great work ethic, be able to react to ever changing priorities and work with a minimum of supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out pre-delivery inspections on heavy plant equipment such as excavators, dumpers, and telehandlers.
- Carry out services on heavy plant equipment.
- Carry out minor repairs.
- Prepare buckets and attachments for new hires.
- Complete all paperwork accurately, on time and include supporting images.
- Assist our Yard Supervisor with general yard duties when required.
Candidate Requirements:
- Have an interest in plant mechanics and the desire to learn.
- Able to prioritise.
- Good paperwork and administration skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Safety conscious organised and able to comply with QHSE processes.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Hard working, reliable and punctual.

Own transport is desired as you’ll need to be within a sensible commute to our Depot in BR2 6AR which is not easily accessible via public transport.
