We have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Prosthetic Technician to join our existing team within The Dorset Prosthetics Centre at Royal Bournemouth Hospital
The Role:
In this role you will be responsible for the manufacture and repair of prosthetic devices. You will work in a professional manner with other members of staff in the Dorset Prosthetic Centre to support the Prosthetists and wider clinical team. You will ensure that all prostheses and associated products are manufacture on time and assembled to a high specification laid down by the Prosthetists in accordance with the Company and manufacturers safety standards and procedures.
Responsibilities:
· Undertake the manufacture and repair of prosthetic limbs in accordance with the specification laid down by the prosthetist, component manufacturer and company standards
· Ensure that all limbs are ready for fitting and delivery within the lead times or contract dates used at your centre.
· Ensure that all stock is correctly booked out to a relevant work order and they are updated accordingly.
· Reduce any materials wastage by good working practices
· Work with the prosthetists and manager in ensuring that you are up to date with new prosthetic componentry and manufacturing techniques.
· Identify any training needs, required to fulfil your position within the Company, and highlight them to your manager.
· Identify any possible hazards to your manager immediately.
· Abide by the Company’s health and safety policy while working in the workshop, ensuring your own safety and that of your colleagues.
· Conform at all times with the Company’s Quality policy.
· Adhere to the policies and procedures in place at Steeper Group and/or when on hospital sites. These can include but are not exclusive to breaks, smoking areas and phone usage etc
