What you will be doing
During your traineeship you will learn to work as part of a team to support adults to overcome their substance misuse issues. As a trainee you will be supported to learn the role of Recovery Worker in a safe environment at a pace that suits your learning and development.
As part of your role, you will be completing the following tasks
- Competing community substance misuse assessments
- Supporting individuals through their treatment plans
- Co facilitating group sessions
- Representing The Forward Trust as an organisation
- There will be an opportunity to gain a qualification alongside your role this can be discussed further at interview
What we are looking for
We are ideally looking for somebody with the skills and experience below but can also accept someone who is passionate about working with vulnerable individuals as we can offer a robust induction and training programme for the right person.
- An understanding of the needs of vulnerable adults in recovery with experience of previous offending or homelessness
- Understanding of, and commitment to, the principles of equal opportunity and client confidentiality
- Able to manage own workload effectively to deadlines and targets
- An understanding of the needs of clients who are in or working towards recovery
- An ability to set and maintain professional boundaries
- Grade C or above in GCSE English and Maths, or able to meet qualification requirements in English and Maths
