Trainer / PractitionerRestorative Approaches

Location: Cardiff, CF24 3AD, Hybrid working available
Salary: GBP28,350 per annum
Contract: Permanent, Full Time

We are Wales Restorative Approaches Partnership and we are recruiting.

Two exciting positions are available for enthusiastic, dynamic Trainer Practitioners to join a small, friendly team based in the centre of Cardiff.

You will be an experienced Trainer (or Teacher), with restorative experience.

The role is diverse and will involve delivering Restorative Approaches training to our clients, whilst also including an element of practice work, experience in both of these areas will be an advantage!

We would particularly welcome applications from candidates with experience in the education, housing and criminal justice sectors.

You will be customer-focused; therefore, we are seeking a candidate who is confident to meet new people, you will work closely with all members of the team in different aspects of the role.

The role is hybrid, with the option of home working available.

We deliver our services locally, nationally and internationally therefore some travel will be involved.

As our Trainer / Practitioner, you will be responsible for:

  • To deliver high-quality training sessions, both face-to-face and online, normally to groups of between , and occasionally to large groups of 100+
  • To deliver restorative practice (mediation) including sensitive and complex cases in accordance with Restorative Justice Council guidelines
  • To contribute to the development of appropriate materials and resources to further enhance our training and practice services
  • To support the management team to review and implement appropriate training and practice processes
  • To deliver on sector specific projects, incorporating elements of project management
  • To update the case management system in a timely manner
  • Attend regular supervision sessions as required
  • Contribute to the effective monitoring and evaluation of training and practice activities
  • To undertake any other duties, as required, appropriate to the post.

In order to be successful in this role, you must have experience of:

  • Understanding Restorative Approaches, and being a role model at all times
  • Previous diverse Trainer experience in one of our five core service areas with experience in delivering face to face and online sessions
  • Previous Restorative Justice and Restorative Approaches casework experience in one of our five core service areas
  • Excellent I.T. skills including Outlook, Word, Excel, Zoom and Microsoft Teams
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines whilst maintaining attention to detail
  • Ability to initiate, maintain and develop effective working relationships at all levels with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Knowledge of Safeguarding procedures
  • Approachable and non-judgemental manner
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently and in a team environment
