Ford & Stanley – The Rail Recruitment Experts are recruiting a Training & Competence Assessor for a market leader in Rail maintenance.

The Opportunity

Ford & Stanley Recruitment are partnered with an award-winning Train and Tram maintainer on their search for a Training & Competence Assessor.

This role represents an opportunity to take a first step into a Training & Competence role, utilising your previous experience as a technician/engineer with a good electrical background.

Locations:

Edinburgh with ad hoc travel required.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Ensure effective systems are in place to manage training & competence across all locations and a 90% (minimum) level of competence is maintained on all projects
• Co-ordinate & support the planning of Training and re-certification of Team Members, both Critical and Non-Safety Critical Staff
• Analyse, forecast, plan and monitor the competency management activities and feedback to Operations Managers / Head of Compliance

The Candidate

This is a chance to get “off the tools” and work developing and delivering training to a team of c. 40 technicians.

The successful applicant will have good electrical experience within Rolling Stock, Aerospace/Aircraft or automotive engineering or may potentially be ex-military.

It is absolutely essential that you have the aptitude and desire to put together technical training plans and then deliver these while also working towards Training and assessing qualifications.

Essentials

• Experience of electrical engineering
• Qualified to at least NVQ Level 3 in an engineering discipline.
• Experience working in a Rolling Stock, Aerospace/Aircraft, Automotive or military environment.
