The opportunity
You will facilitate the growth of knowledge for both Generation (Nuclear Operations) and Nuclear New Build. You will be part of a team with a wide variety of skills, experience and knowledge to support you.
The job holder will be responsible for the development and delivery of key training areas, ensuring Nuclear Operations and NNB personnel have the required initial knowledge to carry out their roles to a high level. The job holder must ensure accuracy of material, adherence to the training standards and excellence in quality of delivery.
We have several opportunities within this team and all roles are based within the South-West of the UK, working to a hybrid model.
Pay, benefits and culture
We can offer a competitive salary from £40,069 - £71,779 dependent on experience and you’ll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Nuclear Generation Company Agreement as well as your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications. This is a full-time position.

What you’ll be doing
As an NSA Training Instructor at EDF, you will have the opportunity to make a major impact on the performance of the organisation through the application and delivery of quality training to meet the needs of the business. Working closely with our customers to support knowledge transfer, while developing your own skills and forging an exciting future.
The key duties the successful candidate will be required to carry out:
- The development and delivery of area specific material.
- Support training in classroom and simulator environments, as well as providing coaching and mentoring of trainees to expedite learning.
- Act as course coordinator for responsible training areas.
- Become a subject matter expert for their area.
- Ensure company values, safety and OpEx are embedded throughout the training material.
- Maintain relationships with both Nuclear Operations and EPR stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts (SME) for development of material.
- If required communicate with external contractors to provide training support services.
- Fully contribute to the business plan of the NSA to support achievement of our company organisational goals.
Who you are
You will have a minimum of a HNC in a relevant technical subject with experience in a relevant skills, engineering or operations related discipline.
Individuals would normally have experience of working in the field of Power Generation however relevant experience in other related industries would be considered. You will need strong Microsoft Office skills, good interpersonal effectiveness and communication skills with the ability to function effectively in a team. Also strong mentoring and influencing skills is key and mobility where required, to deliver relevant training away from the base location.
The following would be desirable but not essential. You will have knowledge of training processes and modern learning methods and media and experience of bringing these to bear in the development and delivery of training. Also, you’ll ideally have knowledge of Vision training tool and be a holder of a recognised teaching/training qualification with experience in customer and stakeholder relations and a good understanding of the key aspects of nuclear power plant systems / components.
