Tramping Wagon & Drag

Rapier Employment are recruiting for a Wagon & Drag Class 1 driver to join our well-established client based in Radley, Oxfordshire to join their expanding team. 

Job title: Wagon & Drag Class 1 driver
Salary: £16.50 an hour
Work: Monday - Friday with weekends when required
Location: Abingdon, Oxfordshire
Expected hours: 45 hours per week
Job Description:
Responsibilities:

• Deliver, install and recover products from customer sites.
• Ability to follow exact directions.
• Able to maintain accurate paperwork/electronic records.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment (crane) or willing to be trained.
• Able to work as part of a team, and have good interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of hand tools.
• Must be able to adhere to Health and Safety procedures and rules.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule (day, night, occasional weekends).
• Reliable and trustworthy, good timekeeper, able to use their own initiative and highly motivated.

Required:

• Must have a current HGV Class 1 licence.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check, motor vehicle record check and drug/alcohol screen/physical.

Desired/Preferred:

• CSCS card desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
• Experience of Wagon & drag is desirable.
• Construction and Transmission & Distribution experience preferred.

Installation and recovery operations are undertaken across the entire UK, often in remote locations, and involve working as a crew of two/three team members or more. Nights away in your own truck (not sharing with others) often as well.
