The Role:
Condé Nast has embarked on a significant transformation; to modernise its business creating a truly global organisation, to grow audiences and to develop new and exciting products. The Transformation & Delivery team is an enabling function, sitting centrally within the organisation as an objective support partner; designing, influencing and leading complex, global, cross functional change in support of Conde Nast’s strategic priorities. This is achieved through:
  • End to end project management, prioritisation and delivery;
  • Providing strategic operational consulting and thought partnership to inform decision making; and
  • Developing best practices and leveraging learnings that enable continuous improvement.
We are looking for a versatile and experienced professional to fill the role of Transformation Project Manager. In this position, you will play a crucial role in both managing individual projects and overseeing core Global Project Management Office (GPMO) functions. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of project management expertise with the rigour and strategic mindset required to centrally coordinate the wider portfolio of project activity.
Responsibilities:
Project Management:
  • Lead and manage end-to-end project lifecycles, coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to timelines, budgets and quality standards.
  • Manage the setup of new projects, clearly defining scope, roles and responsibilities and establish appropriate governance arrangements.
  • Engage with stakeholders to understand project requirements, expectations and priorities.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and budget estimation.
  • Drive project execution by overseeing project tasks, managing and communicating risks, and proactively addressing any issues or obstacles.
  • Monitor project progress, track key performance indicators, and provide regular updates to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration among project team members and stakeholders, ensuring clarity of roles, responsibilities, and expectations.
  • Facilitate change management activities to ensure successful adoption and implementation of transformation initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, operational efficiency, and organisational effectiveness.
Global PMO Responsibilities:
  • Manage the status reporting process, providing ‘critical challenge’ to identify systemic issues and/or portfolio level risks.
  • Create regular reports, to a high standard, for the Executive Leadership Team and senior stakeholders, informing them of project progress, key successes and challenges requiring intervention.
  • Track and maintain a detailed view of all projects being delivered by the Transformation & Delivery Team, including: scope, benefits, key stakeholders, milestones, budget and forecasts.
  • Provide centralised support to the Transformation & Delivery team to address portfolio level risks / issues.
  • Maintain and develop delivery playbooks, tools and templates to support ‘best practice’ project execution.
  • Contribute thought leadership in the disciplines of PMO and project management to drive continuous improvement.
  • Support with global prioritisation activities to identify projects and initiatives that optimise enterprise value.
  • Support with business case development, collaborating with cross-functional teams, to inform investment / prioritisation decisions.
Essential Skills & Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Relevant project management qualification(s): Prince2, Agile PM, APMP, PMI or similar.
  • Previous experience in a PMO role, establishing project management standards and managing status reporting activities.
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager, able to lead small-medium sized cross-functional projects within a complex organisation.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
  • Excellent people management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive change and navigate through ambiguity and resistance.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels in a global organisation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly proficient with G-Suite / MS Office.
Where will you be?
  • We encourage hybrid working but when you are in the office, this role will be primarily based in the wonderful Adelphi building with breathtaking views over the Thames and next to the hustle and bustle of The Strand. This is our London HQ and where members of our global teams sit enabling all of our award-winning content to be created.
