Job description

Are you a primary qualified teacher, who is considering making the change to a secondary school environment? Would you like to play a pivotal role in making the transition from Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 3 seamless and stress free?

We may have the role for you! You would be supporting students making the transition from Primary School to Secondary education, while also developing your career and skill set to allow you to progress in a different direction. This role is perfect for a teacher at any stage in their career and it will allow you to gain a great deal of experience working with secondary aged children with the flexibility of a slightly lower workload.

You will be delivering targeted interventions and tracking pupil progress across either English, Reading & Literacy or Mathematics & Numeracy to a cohort made up of small groups of students. These interventions are delivered based on a scheme of work.

Successful candidates will be supported by an experienced and passionate team and you will have the chance to work alongside some brilliant teachers who put children at the very heart of everything they do.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver targeted interventions based on a scheme of work
  • Monitor pupil's progress and keep records on their development
  • Support colleagues within your department as required
  • Structure sessions to create a positive learning environment, liaising with relevant support staff to develop effective working relationships with pupils and colleagues
  • Maintain discipline through employing various behaviour management techniques in line with the school's behaviour management policy
  • Attend meetings, and in-service training days as required by the school

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate Degree
  • Hold a qualification with, or leading to UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Overseas qualified teachers are welcome to apply
  • Be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check and Full referencing process
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Possess the motivation to achieve and add value to a school
  • Have proven behaviour management skills
