Our client, are a long established Transport specialist situated in Daventry in the heart of the Midlands at the centre of the motorway network, with over 100 years within the industry.
They are now looking to permanently recruit a Transport Clerk to join their business.
Transport Clerk responsibilities:

• Taking Job details, diarising and adding to the system
• Allocating work to drivers
• Responsible for Tacho downloads and reporting
• Assist with other day-to-day operational duties and problem solving
• Provide a high level of service to ensure that orders are fulfilled and that customer complaints are minimised, but are professionally resolved if they arise
• Reporting to the Transport / Office Managers
• Comply with all Company policies related to Code of Conduct, Environmental, Health and Safety and Community
• Entering outside fuel pick ups into fuel system
• Monitoring the walk round checks ensuring they are being completed properly
• Flexibility may be required around working hours

Transport Clerk requirements:

• Exceptional organisational skills
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Professional and adaptable approach to work and working hours with availability to work core hours with flexibility to meet operational requirements
• Good understanding of transport / specialist logistics and transporting computer equipment
• Strong IT skills comprising Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook (training will be given on Company specific software systems)
• An appreciation of the regulations governing transport
• Some geographical knowledge would be helpful
