Job Description
As a Transport Despatcher you will actively report into the on-site Transport Operations Manager at the Leicester recycling & manufacturing site. You will have the following roles and responsibilities:
- Day to day responsibilities will include, but not limited to; daily checks on transport orders, scheduling management, POD retrieval, and updating system.
- Handling customer enquiries via telephone and email, dealing with both inbound and outbound communication.
- Daily checks on transport orders to ensure they have been collected and delivered in line with Customer requirements.
- Responsibility for MOT's, TACHO, RFL, Accounts, Fuel Cards and Driver information within a company wide fleet management systems.
- Working alongside the transport supervisor and supporting the day-to-day planning of vehicles.
- Booking in collections and deliveries.
- Liaise with drivers & customer service teams regarding ETAs and problem solving.
- Checking the driver paperwork is accurate and correct.
- Administration duties include extensive data inputting, filing, keeping staff records up to date.
The Successful Applicant
The successful Transport Despatcher will be easily commutable of Leicester and have the following skills & experience:
- 2+ years' experience in transport and/or distribution logistics
- Experience managing fleets of 10+ vehicles
- Experience of transport planning, co-ordination, scheduling and / or compliance.
- Experience of driver management is desirable
- Commutable to Leicester
