Job description

VANRATH are delighted to be assisting our client, a large Public Sector Organisation with the recruitmentof a Transport Managerto join their team based in Belfast.

This is a Full-Time Monday - Friday position. 37 hours per week. Monday - Friday 9 - 5.

Salary

£41,659 per annum, plus benefits.

Responsibilities:

Fleet Operations Management

  • Oversee daily operations, scheduling, and tracking of vehicles.
  • Develop and implement fleet policies and procedures.
  • Monitor fleet performance and identify improvement areas.

Maintenance and Repairs

  • Schedule and manage vehicle maintenance and repairs.
  • Coordinate with external service providers.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records.

Procurement and Disposal

  • Manage vehicle procurement and disposal processes.
  • Ensure compliance with budget and procurement regulations.

Compliance and Safety

  • Ensure fleet compliance with all regulations.
  • Implement and enforce safety policies.
  • Conduct audits and inspections.

Financial Management

  • Develop and manage the fleet budget.
  • Monitor and control fleet expenses.
  • Prepare financial reports.

Technology and Systems Management

  • Implement and manage fleet management software.
  • Train staff on fleet management systems.

Staff Management

  • Supervise fleet management staff.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide training.

Essential Criteria:

  • A minimum of 5 years management experience in a transport or fleet environment.
  • Experience in managing specialist vehicles and equipment including procurement and maintenance programmes.
  • Hold a current CPC in Transport Management.
  • Significant experience of budget planning, financial management and resource management processes.
  • Hold a current full driving license including class C & D.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of MS Office.
  • Ability to produce accurate and timely reports.
  • Ability to monitor performance and interpret required actions where standards are not being achieved.
  • Detailed knowledge of fleet management and logistics best practice.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Project Management Qualification.
