Transport Operations Co-Ordinator           

Salary £28,800 - plus shift allowance

9-month FTC

Shift Pattern - 4 on 4 off – days and nights

Here at Saga, we are entering into our exciting peak season, the Transport Operations Department are seeking some extra support for 9 months!

We require 2 Transport Operation Co-ordinators to join our Operations team of experts for a 9-month contract. In this team, you will plan and deliver the transport service for all our Cruise and Tour passengers. The journeys could start from anywhere in the UK to either an overnight hotel, airport or port. We have a fleet of 130 executive vehicles supported by additional third-party affiliates. A busy day could have 1600 journeys in total!

Our customers experience from the point they leave their home to returning back again after their holiday is just as important to us. You will need to have exceptional customer service skills, a good knowledge of UK motorway networks and most importantly be able to demonstrate operational skills across various teams and services.

** Due to the nature of the role and because the operational team operates 24/7 from our offices, flexible shift patterns will be a requirement. This role will require you to usually work 4 on 4 off - rotational shift pattern, consisting of 12-hour days and nights with standard shift times of either 6am-6pm or 7am-7pm for days and 6pm-6am or 7pm-7am for nights**

Role Responsibility

Working as a Transport Operation Co-Ordinator, you will be accountable for the following tasks;

  • Resolving transport related queries which could be due to a wide range of circumstances; itinerary changes, travel delays, breakdowns, weather related issues or even road traffic accidents.
  • Assist with queries from customers, drivers, 3rd parties, workshop and internal departments via phone or email.
  • Resolve potential service failures, identifying root cause and recommending corrective action to the relevant parties.
  • Work closely with Airport Services and the Duty Office to ensure timely collection and delivery of clients.
  • Arrange vehicle changes between drivers ensuring full documentation for licencing, service of vehicles and repairs are logged.

The Ideal Candidate

This is a unique and rare opportunity in the Travel Industry. Candidates wishing to apply will need to be able to work 4 on 4 off and be comfortable working nights on rotation.  

You will also need to demonstrate the following skills and experience;  

  • Hold a UK drivers’ licence and be located close to Redhill.
  • Have previously worked in a similar role such as Transport Planner / Fleet Controller / Transport Co-Ordinator.
  • Can demonstrate excellent communication skills and be naturally customer focussed.    
  • Works well under pressure and remains focussed on the level of service.  
  • Can efficiently manage time to ensure smooth service delivery.
  • Excellent attention to detail and able to work well in a team.
  • Have a professional mind set and work with initiative.
  • IT literate – able to update systems and have a good knowledge of MS Excel.

Desirable;

  • Excellent geographical knowledge of the UK and UK motorway system.
