Our client is currently seeking an enthusiastic Transport Operator to join their team in Wellesbourne. The Transport Operator will play a crucial role in coordinating and executing transportation activities, ensuring the safe and timely delivery of goods while adhering to company policies and regulatory requirements. You will not need to have experience in this specific role, but experience within an office environment and the desire to learn will be essential.
Responsibilities:
- Managing a team of drivers - coordinating the scheduling and dispatching of transport vehicles, monitoring routes and their schedules to minimize delays
- Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and safety standards – this includes:
- Vehicle defect reporting
- Tacho downloads at the end of the driver shifts
- Inspections and services are completed in line with operational schedules
- Communicate with internal teams, such as the warehouse, to ensure a smooth-running operation
- Dealing with internal and external customers via phone and email within tight deadlines
Requirements:
- Strong administration skills and record keeping
- Experience with Microsoft packages – such as word, excel, outlook etc
- Excellent communication skills
- Punctuality and reliability
- A full UK driving License is preferred due to the location of the role
