Description
As a Transport Paragon Planner you will report into the Transport Planning Manager and Head of Transport Planning & Logistics on a daily basis. You will be based at the Burton-on-Trent area of Derbyshire and have the following areas of responsibility. This role will primarily be responsible for planning, in a timely manner transport requirements on a day 1 / day 2 basis, so that the team meet the required plan, logistics service and cost performance targets.
- Management of the transport planning of 100+ HGV & LGV Vehicles - a mixture of HGV & LGV vehicles.
- Populate and maintain scheduling and booking and tracker systems.
- Using a mix of automated and manual tools undertake transport planning and daily execution / performance tracking of loads and vehicles.
- Share accurate information with own drivers and service providers to enable effective operations.
- Identify lane / loads requirements, risk and risk mitigations for own and third party providers.
- Work with internal stakeholders to utilise own fleet and third party to obtain the optimal cost
Profile
The successful Transport Paragon Planner will be commutable to the Burton-on-Trent area of Derbyshire. and have the following background:
- Either a Transport Professional with transport planning experience.
- Ideally 2+ years transport experience
- Experience in Paragon Planning Software would be advantageous.
- Experience in managing drivers & planning routes.
- Strong internal and external customer service skill.
