Transport Planner

Jewson, a leading building materials distributor in Northern Europe, is on the hunt for a Transport Planner for our new distribution hub based in Glasgow (Govan) who's as passionate about great service as we are!

Working Hours: Monday to Friday 7am to 4pm one in three Saturday 8am to 12noon.

Location: Jewson, Govan, 92-114 Helen Street, Govan, Glasgow, G51 3NZ

Key Responsibilities

· Plan and coordinate transport operations alongside the on-site Transport Manager to meet customer demands

· Communicate effectively and facilitate good working relationships with drivers, suppliers, and customers

· Utilise Excel and Word to create transport schedules and reports and manage associated administrative tasks

· Manage logistics, including route planning and vehicle allocation

· Drive continuous improvement in transport processes

· Ensure compliance with regulations and company policies

· Supporting branch as and when required

Required Skills and Experience

· Logistic and transport planning experience with awareness of Transport Legislation

· An understanding of building materials would be desirable

· Ability to adapt to a fast paced, changing environment

· Strong IT skills and regional geographic knowledge

· Proactive, flexible and enthusiastic attitude
