A fantastic role in Manchester has come available to join a multi-disciplinary SME engineering consultancy as a Transport Planner. Within this consultancy, you would be joining an Associate in establishing a brand new Transport Planning team in a consultancy that has been established for over 50 years.
You will already have a good understanding and be comfortable working on development planning schemes as a Transport Planner, you will be comfortable with these schemes but you will be given a fantastic training plan and progression route in order to expand and raise your skillset as a Transport Planner.
You will be given the perfect opportunity as a Transport planner to get unrivalled exposure to development planning projects as you will be working solely with the Associate Director to produce and deliver to the client. They can also offer a great progression route and you'd be still given training towards chartership with the CIHT and given the opportunity to eventually lead and deliver your own schemes!
Transport Planner Essential Requirements
- Delivery of Transport Assessments, Statements and Travel Plans
- Delivery of feasibility studies
- Assisting in the delivery of transport scheme business cases
- Assisting in the delivery of the Value for Money assessments and economic appraisals
- Undertaking active travel appraisals
- Development of traffic models and analysis
- Analyse, write and present results and reports
- Attend meetings with clients and other stakeholders
- Work as part of a team to develop solutions
- Support the Transport Planning Team by taking leadership and responsibility for the delivery of its tasks and projects; and
- Continue to develop your professional skills as you progress your career.
Transport Planner Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree or equivalent in Geography, Planning or related subject (Masters' Degree in Transport Planning desirable)
- Working towards or chartered with a relevant professional body
- Delivery focussed
- Ability to work independently and in the team
- Strong analytical and report writing skills
- Enthusiasm to be part of growing the business
- Travel Flexibility
- Working in a multi-disciplinary consulting environment
